As part of our commitment to advancing medical research, two observational studies focusing on the treatment of two tumor types are currently being conducted with TheraMe!’s technology at EPFL LBMM.
Study 1: Esophageal Adenocarcinoma (GEAC)
Study start: Q3 2023
Description: An observational study on Gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma (GEAC) seeks to correlate the microfluidic results with the clinical outcome for standard care therapy. After completion of this observational study, a second phase interventional trial is planned to start mid-2025. In this study, we will select 50 patients who will undergo profiling for a selection of targetable mutations. In parallel, we will perform screens with drugs acting on these targets using fresh biopsies. A report and treatment recommendation will be delivered within a 5-10-day window to support clinical decision making. We will compare patient outcomes of assay-guided therapy vs. response to the previous standard care therapy.
Study 2: Pediatric B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)
Study start: Q2 2024
Description: This observational study focuses on pediatric patients diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Through this study, we aim to gather comprehensive data to improve treatment strategies and outcomes for pediatric ALL.
